Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is in isolation with suspected coronavirus, according to reports.
The 68-year-old is being tested for coronavirus and is said to have a 38C temperature.
The former film producer is showing symptoms of the potentially fatal virus, according to TMZ, adding that law enforcement sources have said Weinstein has various health issues and is “poorly”.
The celebrity gossip site says doctors are waiting on results but they are confident that Weinstein has contracted coronavirus and have placed him isolation for 72 hours.
Reports in US media have suggested that if it is confirmed that Weinstein has coronavirus, he will be transferred to a prison hospital.
There were previous reports he contracted the virus in March but it wasn’t diagnosed at the time and is now thought to have been a heavy cold.
Sources have said that this time is different and Weinstein is ‘definitely’ showing the symptoms of Covid-19 this time around.
Doctors have indicated that Weinstein is in the high risk category due to existing medical conditions, his age and his weight.
A representative for Weinstein told Daily Star Online: “We can neither confirm nor deny that Mr Weinstein has tested positive for COVID-19.
“We can confirm that Mr Weinstein has a fever and is being closely monitored by the excellent medical staff at Wende CF for which the entire legal defence team is grateful.
“It should come as no surprise that Mr Weinstein has numerous maladies and conditions including a heart condition, high blood pressure and spinal stenosis.
“We are working with the NYSDOCCS and the excellent team at Wende CF to ensure Mr Weinstein receives the proper medical attention he needs.”
Since being convicted of rape in New York in February, Weinstein has been charged with six more counts of sexual assault in California.
The charges brought against the film producer involve two victims from incidents that allegedly happened more than a decade ago.
Prosecutors have added six additional counts of sexual assault to the existing charges, which include rape and sexual battery.
The new allegations against Weinstein claim he raped a woman at a hotel in Beverly Hills between September 2004 and 2005, prosecutors said.
He is also accused of raping another woman on two separate occasions in November 2009 and November 2010 at a hotel in Beverly Hills.
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence.
