Demi Moore and Bruce Willis are the friendliest of exes.
The former couple share children Rumer, Scout and Talullah and have a surprisingly close relationship considering they are former spouses.
The two married at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 21, 1987, only four months after they first met, before ending their union in 2000.
Proving that Bruce did not hold any resentment against Demi over their split, in a 2000 interview with Rolling Stone , Willis stressed that he still had plenty of love for Moore.
“I still love Demi. We’re very close,” he told, “We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we’re probably as close now as we ever were. We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our kids. Our friendship continues. The institution has been set aside.”
And showing that the pair were on the same page, Demi reflected in her memoir: “I think Bruce was fearful at the beginning that I was going to make our split difficult, and that I would express my anger and whatever baggage that I had from our marriage by obstructing his access to the kids — that I’d turn to all of those ploys divorcing couples use as weapons. But I didn’t, and neither did he.”
The couple strive to keep their family unit close – despite not being romantically involved.
And in 2015, their daughter Rumer shared on being grateful for her parents being so mature throughout her childhood.
“I never had to split up vacations or split up birthdays,” Rumer shared. “They always made an effort to do all of the family events still together and made such an effort to still have our family be as one unit, as opposed to two separate things, which I think really made an impact,” she dished to American talk show host Larry King.
Demi – who later married then divorced Ashton Kutcher – went into great deal about her relationship with Bruce in her memoir and admitted he is proud of how they handled their divorce.
She pens “It’s a funny thing to say, but I’m very proud of our divorce.”
“It wasn’t easy at first, but we managed to move the heart of our relationship, the heart of what created our family, into something new that gave the girls a loving, supportive environment with both parents.”
And Demi is supper supportive of Bruce’s marriage with model Emma Heming – and in 2009 she attended their wedding.
Bruce and Demi shocked many in April when they revealed they were quarantining together, alongside their children, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
It meant that Bruce’s wife Emma and their two children were without him throughout the pandemic.
Bruce and Demi’s son Scout spoke on podcast, Dopey, abut having the family under one roof.
He said: “It’s been really funny to have both of my parents in the house where they raised us, which has been really cute!”
“They’re both such nerdy, adorable, ’90s parents in a small town where they chose to have their kids and not be in L.A. It’s been pretty cute. … It’s some divine timing too, of getting this much time to hang out with them.”
