Joe Wicks praised as Children In Need hero as PE challenge raises £2million


Joe Wicks has been praised as Children In Need hero after he raises over £2million with his 24-hour PE challenge and also got given a special award for his effort.

On the Children In Need show on Friday night, presenters Chris Ramsey and Alex Jones revealed that Joe’s 24 hour PE challenge had raised a whopping £2,108,228 for the charity.

The presenters were heard praising him for his efforts for the charity and also for his tireless efforts throughout the first Covid-19 national lockdown for providing PE lessons to families and encouraging the nation to keep fit.

It was then revealed by Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell that after a letter by young viewer Nellie, that she would arrive on stage to award him with a much coveted Gold Blue Peter Badge.

The sweet moment saw Joe ask Nellie if she thought he deserved it and, of course, she said yes.

Fans of Joe flocked to social media to praise him for his efforts both for Children In Need and also for his work on his YouTube channel across the pandemic.

One person wrote on Twitter : “Joe Wicks @thebodycoach well done on your 24 hour workout challenge. I can honestly say you inspire me as what you achieved was crazy but truly amazing.

“I will need your help on my next walk next year and so will follow you and your exercises with interest. Well done Joe!”

Meanwhile, another fan of Joe’s commented: “Is @thebodycoach not the nicest man in the world? The guy has been exercising for 24 hours; has had about 2 hours sleep; must ache all over and yet, is on TV being smiley, charming and gracious. God bless you, Joe Wicks!
