Rapper King Von has died aged 26 after being gunned down in an Atlanta shooting, according to pals.
The American rapper has a loyal following of 2.3million fans on his Instagram account after he skyrocketed to fame as a musician.
Gunfire exploded outside Atlanta’s Monaco Hookah Lounge at 3am on Friday morning between two groups.
The shooting broke out in a car park.
DJ Akademiks said King Von’s manager was also in the shooting but survived the shot and remains in hospital.
Off-duty police officers swooped to the scene to help out.
The two cops were not injured in the shooting.
King Von’s friends DJ Akademiks and DJ On Da Beat So Issa Banga took to social media to break the sad news of his death.
DJ Akademiks tweeted: “It’s with great sadness that I have to confirm that King Von has passed away.
“I spoke with his manager who luckily has survived being shot and is currently recovering in the hospital.
“However, Von manager did confirm that Von was shot and did not make it. RIP King Von.”
Later, the social media star updated his fans about more details surrounding the shooting.
He later added: “From my convo with Von manager who survived getting shot, he says it wasn’t the police who killed King Von.
“However, he did say Police did engage in a shoot out with other armed individuals who were there. King Von reportedly was unarmed.”
King Von’s other pal DJ On Da Beat So Issa Banga paid tribute to the late star in a heartbreaking note.
His message was overflowing with his grief over his best friend’s death.
He wrote on Instagram : “My heart can’t take this. No bro. Why you. Why bro. Please just FaceTime me bro.

Police confirmed the gunfire broke out in the car park after a row quickly escalated between two different groups.
There was also an exchange of shooting involving the police.
DJ Akademiks stated in his tweet King Von wasn’t shot dead by the police and the police shooting was in exchange with the other group.
“That physical altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire with those groups,” said Atlanta police Deputy Chief Timothy Peek of the incident.
“Two police officers who were working at that particular club, or lounge, noticed the altercation and engaged some of the people involved.
“There was an exchange of gunfire with police as well.”
King Von had just dropped his debut album Welcome to O’Block.
It featured tunes with Moneybagg Yo, Dreezy and Lil Durk.
The album rocketed to Number 2 on Apple Music’s all-genre album charts.
