The EastEnders actress, 19, is experiencing living by herself for the first time so she can dance in her bubble with pro partner Gorka Marquez.
Maisie, who is best known for playing Tiffany Butcher on the BBC One soap, made her first appearance on the dancing competition over the weekend with Spanish hunk Gorka, who she is “so happy” to be paired with.
As she made her debut, the teen was asked how she’s finding her new venture living alone for the show.
Maisie admitted she’s been forced to do things she has never had to do before, including chores, which she says are “exciting”.
She told host Claudia Winkleman: “It’s amazing. I’m absolutely loving it. I’m doing all this stuff I haven’t done before.
“Cooking and cleaning! It’s all stuff I’ve never done before, it’s exciting.”
The youngster, from Essex, was thrilled to be on Saturday’s launch show and admitted she is most looking forward to performing Latin moves, saying: “I’ve got the hips!”
Many fans watching from home were shocked by her age and were left feeling a little old when she appeared on their screens.
Some viewers had not seen her since her younger days on EastEnders.
She’s played Tiffany on the show since she was six years old, but she did take a break away for a few years.
Maisie returned as Tiff full-time in 2018, and remains on the show as Bianca Jackson’s daughter.
When Maisie was little, fans couldn’t get over how cute she was with her character being a hilarious part of the show.
Years on, and stunning Maisie looks so grown up – something some viewers couldn’t get over.
As Strictly showed a throwback to her childhood days, many confessed they hadn’t seen EastEnders since then.
Even just seeing the comparison to Maisie then and now left many viewers feeling “ancient”, over how much she had changed.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “OMG I haven’t seen Eastenders in about eight years and I’m like this over the fact that is little Tiffany.”
Another said: “Tiffany is so grown up – all Strictly is doing today is making me feel ancient.”
A third added: “It makes me feel old that shes 19 tho. She was wee when I watched Eastenders.”
